The Pyeongtaek City
The Pyeongtaek City is located at the center of Korean Peninsula. It is the bridge connecting the capital circle and southern areas. It has fertile soil, scientific agriculture, traffic system extending in all directions. It is a city of sight seeing agriculture with elegant environment and a new harbor city. It covers a land of 452.26 square kilometers with a population of 358 thousand. It has comfortable climate. International transportation network and seaport network will be established with the Pyeongtaek Port as the center. The Pyeongtaek Port is located at the logistics center of the capital circle and middle circle of Korea. It has unique geographical location. The ocean shipping and scientific agriculture oriented economy is developing very quickly. It has the potential to become the international logistics city in the 21st century.
There are currently 14 jetties in the Pyeongtaek City. By the year 2020, 97 jetties will be built in 4 phases. It will become the central harbor of Huanghai Sea and Northeast Asia and an international trading port.
The Pyeongtaek City consists of Puseng National Industrial Area and 7 local industrial areas. 1 million square meters of new industrial areas like Xitan, Qingbei, Pengcheng, etc. are being established. In particular, the Puseng National Industrial Area, being the base for 21st century international trading logistics, is connected with expressway on western shore and the Pyeongtaek Port. It has logistics base and business supporting facilities. It is the most suitable industrial area. Over 800 excellent enterprises have settled in the industrial area.
There are 48 elementary schools, 18 middle schools and 3 universities in the Pyeongtaek City.
